Recruitment Officer/Volunteer Co-ordinator
Overview:
This is an essential role within any Branch and should be carried out by someone with good people skills and a persuasive manner. The Recruitment Officer/Volunteer Co-ordinator is responsible for ensuring that new volunteers are recruited to the Branch and that existing volunteers are nurtured.
Responsibilities:
To organise volunteer recruitment campaigns.
To contact all Headquarters members in the Branch area at least once a year to invite them to become active volunteers.
To be aware of CP Principles and Guidelines and the responsibilities of all Branch committee Members and volunteers.
To prepare Branch-specific job descriptions reflecting each role within the Branch.
To keep current records of existing volunteers and details of their skills/interests.
To ensure work is distributed fairly and that no one is overburdened.
To establish good relations with volunteer agencies in the area.
To make continuous efforts to recruit new volunteers.
To select new volunteers in conjunction with the Co-ordinator to ensure that suitable applicants are assigned suitable roles.
To ensure that new volunteers are welcomed and trained in their new role, acting as the first point of contact - a friendly face.
To motivate all volunteers and to remind them why we do it.
To follow up all offers of help immediately and endeavour to get every potential volunteer involved straightaway.
