Rescue detailsJune, 2010 marked 49 years of existence for the voluntary organisation MIDLANDS ANIMAL RESCUE TEAM, one of the oldest, most respected and totally voluntary 'rescue' organisations in the West Midlands. Founded in the small Shropshire village of Albrighton by a group of local animal caring people, the Charity was registered in 1971, after already been operating for 10 years. Whilst the Constitution of the Charity relates to activities over a broad geographical area, the operation from its parochial origins, has now extended into an area centred around the major West Midland conurbations. There are many facets of Animal Welfare which the Team would wish to expand but the prime effort is expended in the re-homing of animals whose well being could be in serious danger.
